Hey all, I've played in the other major contests and love the best-ball format for many reasons:

No need to set a lineup which eliminates those tough decisions.

Rewards you for your off-season prep by drafting your best possible team.

No need for in-season management- waivers, lineups, weather reports, Active reports, etc.

Still exciting as every point matters! You find yourself cheering for more players and more games become exciting to you.

Anyway, I'd love to be a part of the excitement of the FFWC in Vegas.

Maybe you guys could offer some low-priced entry type leagues to gather interest leading up to Vegas. The $50-75 price point has done well for other events.

Anyone else interested in this?

Hi Russ,

This sounds great to me! We hosted 13 Draft - n - Go leagues this year at a $99 price point and had a lot of fun with these.

We hosted an $850 Auction league LIVE in Vegas and would definitely be interested in adding an $850 Draft-n-Go type league in Vegas as well if we can drum up enough interest for it.

Our 11-man lineup makes the draft-n-go format rather interesting, as again, it rewards the deeper drafters fpr the value on their bench. Would love to know if more players are interested in the format live in Vegas. I am (but I can't play, lol) I'll include this in the off-season surveys as well Russ and we can re-visit this! Great idea!!

I'd be all for a 30-man roster. Not sure what the current rules stipulate.

We're at 26, but definitely thinking of increasing to 28 or 30 next season based on the feedback we received this season.

Here are the rules:

I'm interested in a live event in Las Vegas for 2014.

I think that 26 is the perfect number, especially for the Live Events.

Thank you,

Mark

Let's continue this discussion. So far, we have 2 of you interested in our very first LIVE Draft Master in Vegas.  Anybody else?

The two price points that come to mind are: $850 and $1,250. If there are any suggestions to prize structure or entry fee let's discuss them here.

Scott,

As someone that would plan on doing the Live Draft-n-Go in Las Vegas every year, I would prefer to keep the payouts as flat as possible.

By keeping the payouts flat, I mean not giving 1st Place a super majority of the prize money, typically 6 times the entry fee, and then barely giving 3rd Place their money back.  By the time Uncle Sam takes his taxes out, the 3rd Place finisher losing money on the event.

Personally, I would like to limit 1st Place to 4 times the entry fee and would actually like to go a little flatter than that.

Below are a couple of examples:

============================================================

FFWC 12-Team Draft-n-Go - $850 Entry Fee

             Ex #1                Ex #2

             ====                 ====

1st        $3400               $3100

2nd       $2800               $2850

3rd        $2470               $2720

FFWC 12-Team Draft-n-Go - $1250 Entry Fee

             Ex #1                Ex #2

             ====                 ====

1st        $5000               $4500

2nd       $4000               $4200

3rd        $3750               $4050

============================================================

In each case I prefer the payouts listed in Ex #2.

The payouts listed in Ex #1 are paying back 1st Place with 4 times the entry fee.  That would be the most that I would like to see.

By giving each of the Top 3 players a sizable win, there will be more people that can afford to return to Las Vegas and play in the event year after year.

I'm looking forward to first FFWC Live Draft-n-Go!

Thank you,

Mark

I like both structures Mark. I'll take these to the team and get something back. I think a LIVE draft master is definitely in our future in 2014.

I personally prefer something a little heavier at top, but yes, not as heavy as the 6 times you suggested.

How about for the Draft-n-Go $850:

1st - $4,250 (5 times your entry)

2nd - $2,550 (3 times your entry)

3rd - $1,700 (2 times your entry)

or

1st - 4.5 $3825

2nd - 3.25 $2750

3rd - 2.25 $1900

Is that a compromise?

You talk about losing money don't you write off your loses or not?  Maybe I am misguided on this?

1st -  4.5    $3825

much better, but would like getting 3rd Place closer to 3 times their money better.

What do others think?

Yes, I do declare my losses, but as someone that has been audited for my Fanatasy Football winnings/losses, the IRS frowns on losses.

Help us find the best day and time for this league guys! We need help from you!

The early schedule of events had it listed for Friday morning, so I have saved that time for this draft.

Unfortunately, Thursday afternoon doesn't work for me.  I already have two other drafts planning to draft at that time.

Thank you,

Mark

Let's see what kind of interest there is. The only reason we wouldn't offer it is if we can't fill it. We'd definitely be happy to open one up.

However questions for you:

Is it 26 rounds, head to head like the Thursday quailifiers?

Do you think this draft will be over by 12:30-12:45 Vegas time?

Hey Scott,

Just wondering where things sit with the $850 Draft 'N Go in Vegas as far as payouts?  Also, anymore confirmed entrants?

If this were moved to 12:30 I could certainly talk to my partner about joining.  We just can't do a 9:00.

Scott,

The rules state 26 Rounds, not 28 Rounds.

In Post #4 above you stated it was going to be 26 Rounds this year with a possible change next year.

"We're at 26, but definitely thinking of increasing to 28 or 30 next season based on the feedback we received this season."

Thank you,

Mark

Is it possible the "We're at 26..." was in reference to the current season/year since it was December and the "next season" was in reference to this year?

My apologies gang. The online draft n gos were changed to 28 rounds this year.

This is however only for the online drafts. This LIVE draft n go is still at 26 rounds. Sorry for any confusion.
